Future "GOING TO"
Welcome again!! We are almost finishing this academic year. Some days ago we started the last unit and here you are how to create sentences using the future GOING TO
SUBJECT + VERB TO BE (PRESENT TENSE) + GOING TO + INFINITIVE
I AM GOING TO STUDY ENGLISH THIS AFTERNOON
HE IS GOING TO VISIT LONDON NEXT SUMMER
If it is negative, the verb TO BE will be in the negative form. Easy!
SUBJECT + VERB TO BE (NEGATIVE FORM) + GOING TO + INFINITIVE
SHE ISN'T GOING TO EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT TONIGHT
THEY AREN'T GOING TO DRINK COKE AT THE PARTY, THEY DON'T LIKE IT
Remember!! When making questions, we have to change the order in the sentence. Verb to be will go before the subject:
VERB TO BE (PRESENT TENSE) + SUBJECT + GOING TO + INFINITIVE?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO THIS AFTERNOON?
WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO GO NEXT SUMMER?
I am also going to advise you to have a look to this interesting web page to work the future tense with some exercises. Try to work on them!!!
